01 / Service Scope

Panel gauge readings in micrometres

What we do, written as work items with a number attached

Every job begins with a reading, not a price. We measure the panel before we quote the work, so the scope below is fixed to a measured value rather than an opinion about how the paint looks under shop light.

Paint correction
2 to 4 machine passesGloss recorded in GU before and after; remaining clear-coat depth logged in micrometres so no panel is polished thin.
Paint protection film
150 to 200 µm film stackPattern-cut or bulk-installed over measured panel edges. Film edge lines are set on a visible seam marker, not hidden in a corner.
Ceramic coating
1.2 to 2.4 µm dry filmApplied to a decontaminated surface after a wipedown check. Thickness verified with a coating gauge once cured.
Interior detailing
Condition score 1 to 5Trim, textile and leather graded on the intake sheet at drop-off, then graded again at collection. Two numbers, same scale.
Wheel, glass and trim protection
4 zones per wheelFaces, barrels, calipers and arch liners are treated and listed separately, because a coated face over an untreated barrel still brakes dust.
Post-coating inspection
1 free visit at 14 daysGloss and thickness re-read, wash protocol walked through, and the recorded values added to your written intake sheet.

Readings taken with a calibrated gloss meter and an electronic coating-thickness gauge, both logged on the intake sheet with the measurement date.

03 / Bay Stages

One vehicle per bay. Times below are bay-clock values, not quotes.

What happens between drop-off and collection

Five stages, run in order on the same day where the schedule allows. Each stage closes with a written entry on the intake sheet.

  1. 01

    Intake wash and decontamination

Two-bucket hand wash, iron fallout remover on lower panels and wheel faces, then a full air dry.

    T+00:00

    90 min

  2. 02

    Paint depth gauge mapping

Every panel read three times in microns and logged on the intake sheet before any abrasive touches the surface.

    T+01:30

    45 min

  3. 03

    Panel wipe and machine correction

Single-stage polish, residue wiped with IPA so no oil sits between paint and film.

    T+02:15

    180 min

  4. 04

    Film plotting and application

Pattern cut per panel, slip solution laid down, squeegee pass, edges wrapped and trimmed.

    T+05:15

    240 min

  5. 05

    Coating cure and raking-light check

Coating levelled, panel inspected at 15 degrees, door edges and jambs recorded on the sheet.

    T+09:15

    60 min

Bay clock starts when the keys are handed over, so add your drive time to the totals. Per-stage coverage levels are set out in coverage tiers.

Warranty months are the manufacturer-stated durability for the grade. Workmanship cover from the studio runs separately, and we tell you at intake which one a claim falls under.

05 / What We Do Not Do

Five jobs we decline

The studio turns away work that would come back as a comeback. The list is published so you can decide before you book a slot in the bay.

  1. Rust repair and panel beating

Corrosion removal, welding and bare-metal straightening belong to a body shop. Film laid over unstable steel lifts within a season.

  2. Resprays and colour matching

We do not paint. A re-cleared or blended panel needs a spray booth first, then a 30-day cure before any coating can be measured against it.

  3. Windscreen replacement and glass polishing

Chipped or delaminated glass is a glazier's job. We mask and protect glass, we do not cut it or polish out deep wiper scars.

  4. Interior upholstery, odour and mould treatment

Water ingress and tobacco odour need an ozone or extraction specialist. Our bay is sealed for coating work, not for wet interiors.

  5. Filing warranty claims on your behalf

We supply the intake sheet, gauge readings and photographs. The claim itself is filed by you with the coating manufacturer.

If your vehicle needs one of these, we will tell you at the intake and name a specialist we would send our own car to.
